Alison Krauss, born July 23, 1971, is an American bluegrass-country singer and musician, known for her distinctive voice and her bluegrass music. Krauss has won more Grammy Awards (27) than any other living recording artist. Born Alison Maria Krauss in Decatur, Illinois, she is the daughter of Fred and Louise Krauss. She has one son, Sam, born in 1999. She was married in 1997 to Pat Bergenson, but divorced in 2001.
