Helen Lydia Mironoff, born July 26, 1945, is an English actress who has won an Academy Award for Best Actress, four BAFTAs, three Golden Globes, four Emmy Awards, and two Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Awards. She is known for her appearances on ‘Shadowboxer,’ ‘Caligula,’ ‘Prime Suspect,’ ‘Elizabeth I’ and ‘The Queen.’ Helen’s other notable works include Cal, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, The Madness of King George, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Gosford Park, Calendar Girls, The Last Station, Hitchcock and The Hundred-Foot Journey. Mirren was born in Queen Charlotte’s Hospital in West London. She belongs to Russian and English descent. She has a sister Katherine and brother Peter. She married director Taylor Hackford in 1997, with whom she had lived in Los Angeles since 1986.
