Canadian-American actress Sarah Chalke was born Sarah Louise Christine Chalke on August 27, 1976 in Ottawa, Ontario, the daughter of Douglas Chalke and Angie Chalke. Sarah grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia. She belongs to English-Canadian, German descent. She is the middle child, having one older sister, Natasha Chalke, and one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah made her acting debut at age eight when she began performing at local theater productions. She is well known for portraying Dr. Elliot Reid on the NBC/ABC comedy series Scrubs, the second Rebecca “Becky” Conner on the ABC sitcom Roseanne, and Stella Zinman in the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
